About Yorkshire Sculpture Park (YSP)
Established in 1977, YSP was the first sculpture park in the UK and is the largest of its kind in Europe. It is the only place in the world to see Barbara Hepworth’s The Family of Man in its entirety and the largest public collection of Henry Moore bronzes in the open air. Set in 500 acres of historic landscape, YSP is a gallery without walls providing ‘great art for everyone’. The open nature of the Park is designed to encourage visitors to explore the relationship between art and nature, allowing over 350,000 visitors attracted to the Park every year to make their own personal discoveries.
Transport will be provided to YSP, and there will be time for you to have a brief walk round the 500 acre grounds or look round the underground gallery. At the time of the Conference, YSP is staging the first major UK survey of sculpture by Joan MIRO (1893 – 1983). It promises to be an enjoyable evening!
The restaurant is on the first floor of the visitor centre, with open views over the estate to the lake. The cost of the 3-course meal and transport to the YSP is included in your registration fee.
